EPISODE #01 Two Men on a Raft

Greetings fellow Castaways,

As I begin this task of tallying the contents of the SS Minnow through all 98 episodes of Gilligan's Isle I will surely change and adapt the format to as it goes along. For now I will simply list each person and the Minnow itself and any contents or items that they may have. I will assign a weight to the items (Minimum weight of 1/2 pound per item to make the math easier.) and I will assign a grand total for the total items in that episode. As the tally progresses I will be careful not to duplicate any items in  order to keep it as accurate as possible. If you notice any mistakes, please let me know. So just sit right back and let's see what we discover.

Episode # 01
Episode Title: Two men in a Raft

S.S. Minnow: 94 Lbs.

• Foam and Net Raft (Seen in open storm sequence) + 20 lbs.

• Flashlight +1 lbs.
• Canteen +2 lbs.
• Hunting Knife + 1 lbs.
• Binoculars and case +3 lbs.

Skipper: 5 lbs.

• Blue polo shirt, Khaki pants, socks, canvas shoes, skipper hat. +5 lbs.

Mr. Howell: 11.5 lbs.

• White Polo shirt, dinner jacket, white dress shoes, Skipper type hat, Patterned button down shirt, high socks, dark shorts, straw sun hat, neckerchief, dark polo shirt, small white straw fedora. +11 lbs.
• Round face wrist watch +.5 lbs.

Mrs. Howell: 11 lbs.

• Gingham patterned pant suit, feather sun hat, quilted/tufted hand bag, pumps, black sunglasses, pearl earrings, pearl necklace, pearl broach, Asian parasol, white gloves, fringed ruffle dress, flower pattern long jacket, ruffled boa. + 11 lbs.

Mary Ann: 6 lbs.

• Matching sleeveless short and shorts, stripped shirt, 'hot pants' shorts, plaid shirt, sunflower hat. +6 lbs. 

Ginger: 4 lbs.

• Sleeveless sequence top evening dress. +3 lbs (Claimed as the "only" dress she has.)
• Diamond earrings and tennis bracelet. +1 lbs.

The Professor: 5 lbs.

• White oxford shirt, khakis, canvas shoes, socks, belt. +4 lbs.
• Round camping canteen. + 1 lbs.

Supplemental items not associated with any particular castaway. 8 lbs. 

• Extra clothing from all but Ginger is used to make a sail for the escape raft. Socks are used to spell out "S.O.S." on the sail. +8 lbs.
• On Raft, boxes from opening sequence. + 0 lbs (already tallied under Minnow Contents.)
